Award-Winning Bulgarian-American Pianist Ani Gogova’s Solo Album-Launch Concert “Fantasies, Fairytales, and Nightmares” Concludes with a Standing Ovation

"To send light into the darkness of men's hearts - such is the duty of the artist." - Robert Schumann

On September 12, the very elegant Arts Club of Chicago hosted a concert for an internationally-renowned pianist Ani Gogova’s solo album release. The music hall was filled at near capacity, where the pianist treated classical music aficionados, friends, and supporters to a memorable evening of “Fantasies, Fairytales, and Nightmares.”
As the music filled the hall, the attendees were taken on a journey consisted of compositions by such greats as Beethhoven’s Moonlight Sonata, Fantasy Pieces by Schumann and Brahms, passionate Fantastic Dances by Shostakovich, compositions by Prokofiev, and some lesser-known selections by Medtner and Ligeti that sometimes appeared to be both cryptic and emotional. In addition to her passionate and sharp musical skills, Ani is known for her active and personable artistic stage presence that augments her performance and helps convey her knowledge of the music to the audience.
The concert was attended and supported by His Excellency Mr. Simeon S. Stoilov, Consul General of Bulgaria, as well as by many of Chicago’s notables, media, and other musicians.
The album is released by Blue Griffin Recording label. Ani Gogova’s current plans are to tour large metropolitan cities such as Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco to promote the release of her album, and the wider popularity of classical music.
